St Helens Coolangatta Bar & Grill

Of all the Kirra Beach Restaurants – St Helens Coolangatta Bar and Grill is an experience to remember. A neighbourhood restaurant which celebrates food as it’s supposed to be. Featuring one of a kind burgers and other delights, Chef Jess Hayes has a passion for crave-worthy food that’s beautiful in its simplicity while being complex in its execution.
St Helens Owner Jess
Jess creates dishes which are inspired by locally sourced ingredients in close relationships with suppliers.
She, along with her husband Brendan created St Helens Coolangatta Bar and Grill after seeing the location directly across from the famous Kirra Beach. They immediately embarked on setting up a new local beachside venue. Serving a high quality of food and drinks whilst keeping affordability in mind.
Jess is from Seattle where, as a chef, service and food quality dictate success. She has created a rare intersection between upscale American bar food and Australian beachside culture. A venue where guests can sit back and lap up the glorious scenery. Enjoying themselves with an ice-cold drink or cocktail and sitting just across the road from the beautiful Roughton Park.
St Helens Co-Owner Brendan
Brendan Hayes is the Co-Owner of St Helens Coolangatta Bar and Grill. He has created a beautiful dining environment. Specially featuring a hand-painted mural of the World Famous Kirra Point Breaker by superb local artist, Mike Ambrose. One wall is also adorned with a painting of the Mount St Helens Eruption which occurred on May 18, 1980. This event is the basis of the St Helens name.
